![]() I compared the word from a poem to a book we are reading in the same class. An epigram is a short, often satirical poem dealing concisely with a single subject and usually ending with a witty or ingenious turn of thought. Epigram: I read this word in a poem that I was reading in my HUM142 class. It turns out she already knew the word but it was totally new to me.ģ. I used this word to describe my friend's style of clothing and basically all the stuff she owns. ![]() Kawaii: I was on a blogging website and there is this girl that I follow and on her blog I always read the word Kawaii, I never knew what it meant until I looked it up and it is an adjective in Japanese meaning pretty, cute, lovely, charming, and darling. I told my friend that this specific lipstick was perennial and it would last all day.Ģ. I used this word over the weekend while at Walmart in the makeup aisle. Perennial means lasting for an indefinitely long time. Perennial: I read this word when I was reading a fashion blog. "You went ham when number three grabbed you by the shirt during your breakaway."ġ. I used the word with my boyfriend after his soccer game last night in a compliment. I thought it was funny how he used it since ham is actually a type of food and crazy is nothing related to it. One of my brothers said, "then she went ham." He used the word ham, instead of saying crazy. My brothers and I were having a normal conversation about a fight that occured at school. My last word was actually a common word used in a different way (slang). I used the word with another teacher at my work when I said, "Even though he was put on the opposite side of the room, I feel dubious about him resisting himself from biting anyone else." Dubious means unsettled in mind uncertain doubtful. I found this word while reading my sociology textbook, Law and the Disordered. "Even though we've had this computer for ten years, it still works in an adequate way when it comes to really needing it." I used it while explaining to a friend how my computer was doing. Adequate means able to fulfil a need or requirement without being abundant, outstanding, etc. These are my 3 juicy wordsĪdequate was one word that I heard while I was watching the film, Coach Carter. Antipathy is a dislike for something or someone. I found my third word, antipathy, in an article that I read on Yahoo's website through CNBC. I used the word today while talking with my aunt about a relative in Boston when I said that "the only reason he was given that job was because of cryonism, not because he actually deserved it!" My aunt, who is a retired teacher, looked at me with her mouth wide open. Cryonism is when a person is given preferrential treatment and hired because of who they know, not as a result of their professional qualifications. I found my second word, cryonism, in an article that I read on Yahoo's website through CNBC. She asked me if I had considered looking for any job openings at a particular company and I told her that "the only way to get hired there was through nepotism." She was startled by my answer.
